Inspiration: Klimt and Neon Pink

Reading Joshua Pekter's artist statement is like going on a good date. Besides possesing immense talent and a unique vision, guy also has a good sense of humor. This California painter fills canvases with hues of ochre, salmon and cerulean, depicting beautiful women in a ephemeral world. Like many artist before him he has fallen in love with the image of a girl (yeah, we're sort of amazing). While Pekter sights Gustav Klimt as inspiration, he seems to communicate the expressiveness of Antonio Lopez or Steven Stipleman, famous fashion illustrators. Either way, I am smitten.
